What are RJ45 interface and RJ11 interface connectors? And relevant provisions of their definitions and standards.
1. RJ45 interface
RJ45 interface is a common name, which refers to the modular jack or plug with 8 positions (8 pins) defined by international connector standards and standardized by IEC (60) 603-7. IEC (60) 603-7 is also the reference standard for connection hardware of ISO/IEC 1180 international generic cabling standard.
The ISO/IEC 11801 standard specifies the requirements for connection hardware:
Refer to IEC (60) 603-7, 8-pin "RJ45" standard for physical dimensions of information socket connections.
The number of cable termination conductors of the information socket is 8.
Therefore, the use of 6-pin or 4-pin connectors (RJ11) is never supported by the general solution.

2. RJ11 interface
RJ11 interface usually refers to 6 position (6-pin) modular jack or plug. This connector has no international standard and is mentioned in the generic generic cabling standard. Moreover, this name is often used for the 4-pin version of the modular connector, causing confusion.
In the generic generic cabling standard, there is no separate mention of "RJ11", and all connectors must be 8-pin. Therefore, the collaboration and compatibility of RJ45 and RJ11 have not been documented.
